Moravia Middle School seventh-grade teachers were nationally recognized with a "Teams That Makes a Difference" award. The National Middle School Association awarded the group with a first-place prize, which includes $5,000 to be split between them. The "Teams That Make a Difference" award, given annually by the National Middle School Association, was bestowed upon this dynamic team fo seven seventh-grade teachers. The team's application, submitted by Bruce MacBain, had to endure three rounds of judging by education professionals...The team helps students focus by establishing a unifying theme, which is stressed all year long."
Founded in 1789 by John Stoyell, Moraiva is located at the south end of Owasco Lake, in Cayuga County. Even though it is a small community, only 4,000, it has many conveniences to offer such as: its own local school, Moravia Central, banks, a department store, a hardware store, a grocery store, drug store, and a variety of churches.
Moravia is the home of the Powers Library, founded in 1880. It is the oldest continuously used library in the State of New York.

Moravia is also the home of Fillmore Glen State Park with it's many hiking trails and spectacular views, especially in the fall.
